What are the prerequisites for enrolling in your courses?
There are no prerequisites for the CFSC, you must pass this course in order to take the CRFSC.
Do you provide firearms for training purposes?
Yes, we provide firearms for training purposes. All firearms are disabled and for training purposes only.
When I complete the course do I receive a firearms licence automatically?
Once you complete your course you will be able to apply for your firearms possession and aquisition licence. You will be provided information in the course on how to do this.
What is the minimum age requirement to take a course.
Anyone 12 years and older can take the CFSC. Youth are eligible to apply for a minor's licence which allows them to be in possession of non-restricted firearms.
How long are the courses?
The CFSC requires 8 hours of teaching time. The CRFSC requires 4 hours of teaching time if taken within 7 days of completing your CFSC or 6 hours if taken after 7 days.
In addition to the teaching time, a written and practical exam must be completed in order to pass the course.
Does the course involve shooting firearms?
All firearms in the course are disabled and there is no live ammuntion. The courses teach safe handling skills, there is no live fire during the course.
